4-day LGBT Ancient Chengdu Tour

History and culture in Chengdu is really worthy for travelers. The Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, Mount Qingcheng, Sanxingdui Ruins,Wuhou Temple, and Jinli Street are not just scenic spots filling with tourists, outlets, but the place where history happened.

Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu Meals:No meals

Our local professional guide and experienced driver will expect you at the airport after your baggage reclaim and customs clearance, and then escort you to check in the hotel in downtown area. Relax during the rest time of the day to recover from the jet leg. You will get some suggestions about how to spend the rest time of the day from our tour guide.

Brief Introduction: Set back from the main road down a driveway at the base of the Haicheng Bld. You can see a Sports center sign from the road. MC sauna is below it and the bar is beyond it, around the corner. Large gay club with patio seating facing the river and large indoor seating with bar and small stage for performances. This is the happening gay club in Chengdu. Opens about 9pm and runs until very early in the morning. Packed on weekends. Free show. Entry is cheaper before 8pm.


Attention:

1. If you have no intention to Bar visiting, please tell your trip advisor who will omit that activity, requote the tour and give you the practical arrangements immediately.

2. Bars do have rest time and not available in whole 365 days, and we will recommend the equivalent ones to you based on your specific touring date if the bars closed. If you do have some in mind, please feel free to let me know.

3. Generally, the bar visiting activity is placed at the first night of a new destination for giving both you and your tour guide much more time to rest and prepare for the next days' activity. However, we would pull it out and arrange to 2nd or 3rd day if it has time conflict with your flight, or sightseeing.

Day 2: Dujiangyan Irrigation Project and Mount Qingcheng Tour Meals:Breakfast

1.Dujiangyan Irrigation Project
Although completed over 2,000 years ago, the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project is in perfect working order to this day. It functions not only as a flood prevention mechanism, but also as an immense source of irrigation as well as a means to facilitate shipping and wood drifting. It is one of the priceless treasures of Chengdu, and still makes great contribution to people inside Chengdu. The designers are Li Bing and hi son, and you can see their statues in Eewang Temple located at the foot of Yulei Mountain.


2.Mount Qingcheng
Located in Sichuan Province, Mount Qingcheng is one of the birthplaces of the Taoist religion. With over 20 temples and religious sites for Taoism, it exudes a strong flavor of Taoist culture and the buildings demonstrate the Sichuan style of architecture.  Major religious sites here include the Natural Picture (a building complex immersed in Nature), the Jianfu Palace, the Tianshi Cave, the Zushi Palace, and the Shangqing Palace. All structures are surrounded by dense woods and embraced by nature. In Taoism mythology, it was the site of the Yellow Emperor's studies with Ning Fengzhi. As a centre of the Daoist religion it became host to many temples. The mountain has 36 peaks.


Day 3: Panda Base and Sanxingdui Ruins Tour

1.Panda Base
Located in northern suburb of Chengdu, 10 km away from the urban area, the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base was built for saving giant pandas originally. Here also breeds some red pandas, black-necked cranes, white storks and white swans, black swans, geese, ducks and peacocks and other animals. The Giant Panda Museum inside it is the world's only museum that focuses entirely on the critically endangered giant panda. Inside the museum, on display all kinds of valuable information in Figure 800 pieces of photos, showing the main types of samples collected from Sichuan; the museum also exhibits books and scientific literature that authors around the world have written about giant pandas throughout history.


2.Sanxingdui Ruins
Sanxingdui, the ruins of the capital of the ancient Shu, a Kingdom over 4,000 years ago, is located in Guanghan City. The site covers an area of 120,000 square meters. In 1986, a great number of relics were brought to lights, among which six pieces are evaluated as national treasures, representing the best of the art of copper in China. Amongst the hoards of prize antiquities there are a variety of unique, grotesque bronzes, such as 2.62-meter-tall standing statue, 1.38-meter-wide bronze mask, 3.95-meter-high bronze tree, all of which stand out as treasures unparalleled. In addition, the gold ware represented by the gleaming gold scepter, and jade ware such as the blades with heavy motif, turn out to be undeniable rare jewels never seen before.


Day 4: Departure from Chengdu Meals:Breakfast,Lunc

1.Wuhou Temple
Wuhou (Martial Marquis) Temple is built to memorize Zhuge Liang, the distinguished statesman and strategist during the Three Kingdom Period, meanwhile the symbol of wisdom in Chinese people's mind. For his accomplishments as the minister and great personality, he was gain the name of Martial Marquis after his death. Hence, the temple got the name. Inside the red-wall encircled temple, there are 41 statues of historical figures of Shu State during the Three Kingdoms period. Here is the right place to feel the culture of Three Kingdoms period.


2.Jinli Old Street
Personally speaking, Jinli Old Street should change its name into Jinli Ancient World. While strolling down the narrow street, you will find yourself surrounded by a world of stores selling Shu Embroidery, lacquer products, folk handicrafts, curios, calligraphies and paintings; folk artisan performances including sugar painting, shaping clay figurines, paper cutouts, puppet shadow shows, and so on; aroma of delicious local snacks and specialties in many restaurants and sidewalk booths; group of decent ancient China's architectures.
